How
to Apply for EHS Funding
Early Head Start is a federally funded program. Announcements for
the availability of funds for new Early Head Start programs are
published as a Request for Proposal (RFP) at Grants.gov. Announcements are also available at the Web site of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF). The RFP will specify who is eligible to apply, the requirements
of the program, and the timeline for submitting the proposal. In addition, you have the option of submitting your proposal electronically at Grants.gov.
There are a number of documents that can be helpful to you as you
consider developing a proposal for EHS funding. The Statement of
the Advisory
Committee on Services for Families with Infants and Toddlers
and Creating
a 21st Century Head Start: Final Report of the Advisory Committee
on Head Start Quality and Expansion provide important background
information on the history of Early Head Start. The
Head Start Program Performance Standards provide the regulations
governing the operation of Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Check the Web site of the Office of Head Start for more information.
